Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Casamigos

Hello!

I am new to the world of Omegas but I’ve been offered a Limited Edition Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Casamigos (80 made).

It is a beautiful watch but in terms of retaining value, how do these watches do?

Thanks for your opinion!

I dont buy watches for value, or resale, that what stocks are for. For me personally, if i like the look of a watch, I get it if I don't, I wont. In general, Omegas are known for their LE's and most don't really appreciate all that significantly except for the silver snoopy versions.

The version you are interested in in my opinion looks to fad like. The blacked out look I cant see aging well, it a bit too tactical. Nothing wrong with that, but styles come and go.

The fact it's only limited to 80, that is a positive for value retention. The fact it's a tribute to a drink and George Clooney... that can go either way.

It's a gamble for sure. If you like it, buy it.

I got an LE (2018 units, so not very L) and I bought it because I liked it not due to the LE. I fact, I didn't know it was an LE at the AD until I picked it up and looked at the case back.

Here is a photo of the watch your talking about (for those who don't want to google it)

I actually like everything about it:

1. No LE makings on the face (huge tick from me!)
2. Colours go extremely well together
3. GMT function

It would be something I'd buy if I had money to splash on lots of watches

I like the watch and at the right price I would be a buyer. Long term value depends on the ever developing and evolving market place. If the watch is about an investment only it is a pass unless you get 40% off retail, which I doubt.

I still like yours the best - didn’t it come with a bracelet too if I’m not mistaken?

Unfortunately Omega made a mistake but my AD said he’ll make it up to me. Let’s see what comes through.

It's a limited edition watch made by a company with limitless limited editions in a color scheme you either love or hate for a celebrity endorsed/owned Tequila. In my opinion, we should be happy they only made 80. If YOU love it and it's available at a good price, go for it. I'm unsure and doubt it's potential to be a "value retention" watch for you.
