Cool to see you are still into watches! I had to smile when you said your new significant other didn't understand your obsession. You definitely belong here! Best of Luck!
It is a mystery. The bracelet certainly has all the correct markings of a vintage President. The case appears genuine in the pics, as far as correct shape, caseback, etc. and is clearly marked 18K. The diamonds sparkle, per Erica. So, If nothing else, the whole situation is intriguing.

Even the fakes have these clasp markings. But they are obviously not solid 18K gold.

I had my daughter weigh the watch. The results were consistent with the watch and bracelet being solid gold. A fake would be much lighter.

The last photo you posted proves, without a doubt, it is not genuine. Everyone here sympathizes with your loss, but that watch is fake. Sorry

Remove the case back to see the exposed movement and you will have confirmation that the watch is not genuine. There are plenty of educated members here who would not steer you in the wrong direction. Member " crowncollection" is the Day- Date expert. Reach out to him for a "second opinion". Cheers

Yes, it arrived on Friday. What a disappointment! Totally fake! I guess that explains why I had no memory of it. What I don’t understand is how I acquired it. Someone must have given it to me, because they knew I liked watches. I have no use for a fake Rolex, or even a fake Seiko. The whole thing is weird, and the watch’s origin remains a mystery. I would love to own a genuine Day/Date. I may have to source one....

Bummer but a touching story nonetheless. All the best!

Kat, thanks for sharing your unfortunate story.

Stuff happens.

Keep your sights set for getting that DAY-DATE someday.

Here's a nice cold beer for you.

Sorry to hear about the watch.

The weight being what it is intrigues me though - any idea what it is made of if not gold ?
