seiko black monster

i would not have dreamed of getting a seiko till i found this site- but now i am looking forward to it so much its unreal-i offered them more money to ship it quicker, but i will just have to wait.

i always assumed that seikos were a small step up from casios and it just goes to show while this is a rolex site- there is no end to the love of watches- of all prices. i got it for about us$175 but i now have to pay tax or something taking it to 200... from what i have read it is well worth it and this will make the perfect everyday/work watch.

cheers guys, anyone got any good pics of theirs to keep me going?!

Probably from the SEIKO website, but if you buy one new from most sites that sell it (Amazon, etc.), you can specify either the metal bracelet or the rubber strap up front.

Great choice

By far a great value for the price. Awesome Lume, actualy super awesome lume, good size and weight, workhorse movt. Its 1 of my Favs..and get a lot of wrist time!!

The thing is a tank. Keeps time Ok as well.

You will not be dissapointed. I have always said at least 1 Seiko should be in every collection.

Its a 22mm strap, I'd suppose but it better be some thick strong strap for this big guy.

Recently purchased a Montblanc Chrono Auto, looking for a daily auto to wear. Looking at a Hamilton to get away from the "diver" look. Seems thats all I have. But I like this also. Whats the model number on it? Is there a black face, black bezel version?

Which one did you bought? I was being offered a Star Chorno GMT automatic at MSRP (limited edition), been wondering if I should pick it up. (New from Mont Blanc boutique NY)

Its the one with the floating diamond at the crown.

Seiko Monsters are the best diver watches for the money, I used to have a collection of them but I almost never wear them so I flip them for a pretty good profit:

i wasnt sure between the orange and black, but after getting the orange planet ocean i thought it might be too much orange! i was also tempted by the blue one- but over spent on my holiday and i didnt like the red detail on the bezel... but a yellow one i would have gone for(if they wernt $1200!)

I believe it is speced for 40 hrs. of reserve, but then I keep it on a winder and it has never wound down.

Personally, I think the yellow monster is one of the most beautiful yellow dial watches, too bad there's only 300 of them:

yippee! it arrived and i am enjoying it- although it actually feels small as i have been wearing my planet ocean 45mm for so long!

i tried to adjust the strap and this tiny bar end fell off- i found it(i ate lots of carrots as a kid!) but found it impossible to fit back on propperly once the links had been removed. any ideas?

plus the box i got with it was seriously rubbish(grey cardboard and a cushion with a hole in it!)- not the cool looking box you guys got!- dont get me wrong i'm not complaining as it seems a great watch, and it only cost me $190 with all shipping/taxes included. thanks to all on here who recomended theirs.

no, its grey on the inside and cream on the outside- made of cardboard, with seiko printed in silver- also the lume is not as fantastic as i was led to believe... it is brightish after 30 seconds in front of a lightbulb, but ran down within 5/10 mins....i hope its not a feiko

The lume is probably because its been sitting inside the box, just wear it for a day and it should lit up like a christmas tree at night.

Take a picture of your box, the box could be from another market thats all. US seiko uses box.

I have resized some monster bracelets, they use a small pin and collar to hold the link together, I used no specific tool, just be careful not to loose the collars since they're tiny. Here's a link:

http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/WatchToo...ingToolUse.htm

On the other hands I am sure there fake monsters out there.
