First AP 15500 vs 26331

I’m looking to get my first AP and was told from the dealer that both could be available for me in any dial configuration- except blue. I have a 7.5” wrist and curious others thoughts. I plan to comb through the forum tonight for photos and reviews, but curious initial thoughts.

Thanks!!

Both are awesome pieces, you can’t go wrong. I was in a similar situation last year, and ended up going with a 15500 grey— and no regrets at all! It’s so mesmerizing and I think the perfect AP (That said, I still hope and plan to acquire 26331 really soon haha)

Congrats in advance!

Being used to Rolex, it’s odd to see a watch I like and it’s available just like that. Lol (except for blue dial of course)

for most people it's at least a 12 + months wait at the moment for the 15500 but maybe you got/ get lucky...

I had the same option, I think for function I went with the 15500, as I feel there are other Chronos out there that I like. Although it could still be my next purchase.

I didn’t realize there was a wait. Is it the same for the 26331?

I don’t think so, should be way easier to get the 26331 but at least here in states it’s been tough for any ss models because COVID interrupted production

I got the ROC first (by request) and then RO second. I love the display back coming from Rolex, it's quite nice, but on a larger wrist I think the ROC is just a bit nicer, fills up more space on the wrist so to say with the pushers and also slightly extra height. But I'm also a big chrono person, so biased in that regard.

What else is in your collection? Not knowing, I'm tempted to say if you have a Daytona already then get RO, if you don't have a Daytona then get ROC.

To me if both are available now, try and see which one sing to you, pick that one.

But if you have to wait, I would get whatever becomes available first.

If you can get one without a long wait I would get the the 15500 first. Both are great watches, however I tend to prefer a more classic clean dial. It also has the in-house movement, which to me means something at this price point. You can always get the chrono as a second AP if you decide to expand your collection as it’s less difficult to source.

Thanks. As far as my collection, my active rotation includes some Seikos, Sub Date, Black dial Daytona, Vintage 5513 and 1603, Omega Speedmaster Pro, And BLNR.

15500. It showcases that beautiful dial with the least amount of distractions. And the movement is beautiful.

Since you have black Daytona and no display backs (unless it’s a speedy sandwich), then would go 15500 for diversity sake.

Go with the 15500 since it has a better power reserve, inhouse movement and display caseback. Since your wrist is 7.5 the dial wont look too broad on your wrist.
