What brands don't restrict supply of repair parts like Rolex?

Hi Guys, I'm wondering which of the main luxury watch brands don't restrict the supply of repair parts like Rolex does. I find it aggravating how simple repairs on Rolex cost several hundred dollars since they don't make the supply of repair parts widely available which drives up the price for an independent service.

How about Omega, Patek, Breitling, lange, etc. Do they also make it very difficult for independent watchmakers to get their repair parts?

Honestly, this may weigh on my next watch purchase.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure on that but I think Rolex has always tried to control every aspect of their products and feel that if you can't afford service and repairs then you can't afford a Rolex.

Another thing is that they don't want Frankenrolexes out there with people swapping dials etc.

I like how vertically integrated Rolex is and would rather have it this way, personally.

Yes, except Omega, they allow independent watchmakers a parts account.

Rolex is smart to to this. Consistent application of repair parts, makes watches more valuable and better able to hold value in the secondary market. Not knowing what is in your Rolex without opening and/or having a mix of parts that are inconsistent, causes a lot of issues in valuation. Lange and Patek are too limited for this to be an issue.

You'd think we were buying tractors, or something.
