A Polar would fit very nicely into your collection. A great pairing for your Z-Blue. A pair that are so Rolex, yet so different. But I am biased. I think there's nothing else quite like a Polar. Eye of the beholder and all that. Have you tried one on? They do look rather amazing in daylight. The fat blue lumes look superb too, and show up quite clearly in the shade, let alone the dark, which makes for a rather striking effect. Oh yeah, and you can read two time zones. That turns out to be more useful than I thought it would. But like I said, I'm biased.

As a general rule I don't flip. I prefer to hang onto watches. Most of mine commemorate something, and disregarded pieces can come back into favour with me, sometimes years later. I would lend or pass on to a family member, a close friend, but for the most part I will keep. If there is any way you can swing a Polar without flushing the AK I would strongly advise you to try. Particularly, because as time passes and circumstances change, some may end up buying the same watch more than once. I'd rather just open a forgotten draw.

I really enjoy both of these, but the Polar has a slight edge. IMHO.

I’ve heard people joke that it’s called a ‘Polar’ due to its tendency to polarise opinion. I have one and love the piece but suggest that you log some wrist time before deciding.....

If you love the polar, then get the polar .. You already have other no date black dial Rolex watches in your collection .. So ask yourself: Do you like the date and 24 hr hand features? If so then go for it.
