I have the PO 8500 , not the liquid metal one. And i could not be happier .The liquid metal one is to light i think, and feels a little cheap.

When in the Omega AD I had the choice of both as they had one only PO LM. I quite fancied the 8500 movement. But when I tried both on and put them side by side there really was no comparison . The PO LM just dazzled. You really do have to see it to believe it. The LM and ceramic bezel really is a work of art. The detail is incredible.I found the 8500 to be way too thick for my liking. And believe me I wear mine every day and it is NOT a light watch. Plus it is a very rare and desirable watch. Mine gets compliments daily...Just my 2 cents .

Both are great watches, I personally prefer the understated charm of the cal. 8500 Planet Ocean. There is no wrong choice here, just go for the one that sings to you

seems like a no brainer to me -- I would pounce on the LM LE --

If you think that the decision was the wrong one (although I can't imagine that after having it on your wrist once - you would have any doubt) -- the 8500 will always be around...the LMLE - only 1938 in the world -

Not only a gorgeous watch, but an actual limited edition

(ahem 11007 bond 50s??!!)

Plus - it is the ONLY watch in my collection for which I haev evr paid full MSRP...

I would go for the 8500, because I prefer the matte look of the ceramic and the movement is truly a work of art that represents a real step forward for Omega.

You can't go wrong with either, I would just rather put my $$$ into the movement, as opposed to the aesthetics of the watch.

Excellent point, I did the same and went with the 42mm 8500 PO.

PO LM LE IMHO. It's a beauiful piece and only 1948 pieces made. Good luck on your decision.

X3, I agree with Charles. The LM is all shine, that is why I sold my Sub C. I want the matte dial and matte ceramic insert, not a shinny one. The movement is far superior also.

I've owned three 8500 movements and all seven of my 2500C watches have been as accurate and reliable as the 8500s.

I am blessed to be one of the 1948 who will own the unique Planet Ocean Liquidmetal LE. I love the elegant look and way the slender case and the bracelet caress my wrist.

The thickness of the 8500 case and the gray bezel are deal killers for me. I am in no way tempted by the new Planet Oceans.

I really like the 8500 PO but I was always going to wait until a LM LE was available (second hand two months old). Now that I got it, I am really happy with my decision.
