I'd say it depends on the size of your wrist.
I tried some on last week. I feel they wear very small but are very tall.
I think the blue is gorgeous, so is white.
Wasn't too impressed with the black in 38.

If your wrist is bigger than mine, I wouldn't do it.

I actually am looking at the black 38mm very seriously. Although I am a male I have an extremely small wrist. While I really like the other models, they are just to large for my wrist. The few that I've been able to try on extend to far over my wrist for my liking. I think the black version looks closer to the traditional speedmasters, and that is why I am leaning toward that color. I am still attempting to find a Speedmaster 57 38.6mm to try on for comparision, before I make up my mind. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this. Will go to boutique this week to try on the black version

I like the Speedy Pro, but attracted to a smaller size of Speedy 38 as my wrist as relatively small. I also like the fact that it is an automatic watch, and that the WR is 100 meters vs. 50 meters for Speedy Pro.

The 36 DDs and DJs are pretty manly. Hopefully the fads of skinny suits and fat watches will both pass soon.

I’ve tried the Speedy 38mm at my local AD yesterday.

It fits very well on small wrist, mines 6.5”.

My initial thought the watch looks a bit funny as it’s the smallest chronograph I’ve ever seen and the Tachymetre is a bit too small however it’s very comfortable and the dial and bezel colour is far better than the Speedy Racing.

I’m not a fan of the moon watch as it’s too thick.

No offense intended but the date window ruins it for on those variations.

In person I wasn’t a fan. It looks like it wants to be a moonwatch but isn’t . Like the moonwatch’s step child. If the standard Speedy pro is too big (on nato or leather it wears much smaller than on bracelet), I would rather have a FOIS. Just my 2cents

Well said. It took me a bit to figure it out. Sensui helped there too.

Gorgeous watch, but not "the speedy."

For me, the attractive part is that this watch is (1) relatively small - I have a small wrist; (2) it's an automatic; (3) it has a date; and (4) WR is 100 m, I think. I tried the grey and the black one, and am leaning towards the black. I tried the FOIS too, but because of the silvery hands, from some angles it is quite hard to read the time. Just my thoughts.
