Question regarding Patek Philippe 5146

Hey guys! First time to post here in rolexforums and I hope everyone is doing great!

I would just want to ask for your opinions regarding my dilemma:

My gf and I will be having an engagement soon and we would be exchanging watches as this is a tradition in my country. At first, we were thinking of getting Rolex, but I’ve always wanted a Patek since years ago. We eventually agreed on getting a Patek, however, she always wants the annual calendar for men and I think it is because the ladies annual calendar has diamonds in it, and it is much more expensive than the male counterpart.

Here is an image of the watch on my hand, and on hers:

MINE (I’ll be getting the whitegold cream face btw)

HERS (ROSE GOLD)

HERS (YELLOW GOLD)

Question 1 - Is the 5146 too big for her wrist?
Question 2 - Does it look nice on her wrist?
Question 3 - Which one looks better on her wrist? Rose or Yellow gold? (she likes the yellow one though)

Hope to hear feedback from you guys here and hopefully I choose the correct watch for us since it is also our first time to buy a Patek.

Thank you very much and have a great day to all! More power!

Too big and no, not nice. How about the new twenty four?

Thank you for the feedback! She tried the twenty four, ladies annual calendar (too pricey), and ladies calatrava and sadly, she did not like any of those. She finds those watches quite "feminine" and what really caught her attention was the yellow gold 5146 which is for men. :(

Congratulations!

I think it looks great on her wrist. Not too big.

Ultimately though she will have to live with it and feel comfortable walking around so try it on a few times. Walk around with it in the shop, with a handbag etc.

I think it will be fine....

This.

Will look even bigger if she doesn't wear it high up on the arm but on the wrist...

Sorry I say no as well. Personally I don’t think the annual calendar is a good looking watch.

And don’t buy Patek for the sake of buying a Patek.

Very big.
I would notice that in public and possibly comment if it were a business associate.

Congrats

Looks big on her wrist.
I once saw a lady wearing 5119J, looks simple and nice.

You guys from HK? Seems like the general consensus over here is oversized watches.

Amazing purchase regardless.

The lugs hang past her arm nearly 2inches above her wrist. That’s a hard pass for me.

I am not trying to pile it on my friend but I echo everyone’s sentiments. The watch is way too big and too expensive to buy from an AD even at a discount

LOL - great advice for now but it could backfire as she might accuse him of not having warned her once she figured out that the piece just doesn't work...

I agree -- it's too big for her forearm.

In a more serious tone -- the fact that she is trying on the watch way up on her arm is an indication to me that she realizes the watch is too big and is "trying to make it work." IME, it's like trying to convince yourself that the size large shirt on sale fits because it's such a good deal even though you normally take a medium. It doesn't end well and is a bad decision.

Congrats on the engagement! Good luck with the watch shopping.

Agree with others; looks too big on her wrist. I do like the RG version better on her than the YG.
