Thinking through a trade
I’m thinking about a trade of a 2015 Rolex gmt 11670 ln + cash for a panerai Pam 525 in Oro Rosso gold. I have the SD43 and I rarely if ever wear the GMT anymore and think I want something in PM. General thoughts appreciated. Still not enough posts to post pics.

I don’t know PAM watches, but it’s your decision. If it were my decision, I would keep the GMT.

I personally like the 576 more than the 525...the 525 had an autommovment and withbthe flyback complication, it is substantially thicker then the 576, which has an 8 day manual movement and as a result, is much thinner. For a red gold PAM, I think the thinness of the 576 is more appropriate ...just my opinion...
Also 525 has a black dial against the red gold while 576 has a brown dial...it’s nust a matter of which you like more... In any event, I like the trade...more PAMs is always a good thing! |

The only thing worse than the trade value of the average Panerai is the trade value of a PM Panerai. I have always liked the Panerai PM models but have never stepped up due to the ablity to sell it latter for anything that remotely resembles a fair price. Do some research and see where pre-owned models are. Also, in the past Panerai used a different buckle/clasp system that require different straps so if you own current Panerai straps they will not work. Hard pass, not because I don't like the PM watches but I can not say I will keep a watch forever. I need to get most of my money back out if needed.

I say if you don’t wear it much. Do the trade, the Pam 525 it’s perfect gold piece.

Of the rose/red gold PAMs currently available on the website, I would look to the simpler ones (the 42mm with the Cali dial, 379, 522, 398) or the 684. Just my taste. I think a watch like the 525 is better in non-PM.

Personally I’d only get the PM radiomir like 21,62,65,80,103,185,336,373,376,398,439,718,740 et al (I’m leaning towards one with wire lugs in particular)
For luminor case,I prefer lighter metal as it’s thicker and typically heavier... |

I appreciate the feedback. Going to go take a look at it in person. I love my Pam 1321 and have wanted a pm piece for a while. We will see if it works out.
I would then still have a 4 piece collection. Pam 1321 Rolex DJ41 blue stick Rolex SD43 TBD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
