I don’t know any idiots that would pay 200K for a 5980. All I know is 5740’s are around 160ish.

from a trusted dealer I know, these prices are BS. What's listed doesn't at all correlate with what they are actually selling for.

Ninja said the same to me.

Have you owned a PM daytona, and if so how does it hold by comparison? I have one one the way and am therefore curious.

Thanks to some of the comments from the two of you and others, I've backed off on my desire to get another PM sports watch outside the Daytona. I was initially lusting after a 5712r.

I used to have a WG Daytona. Have it for 7 years. My wife wears a RG Daytona. And I must say nothing on the market is like a PM Rolex. Nothing is as robust. And best part; even when it does get scratched the Rolex still looks great! Unnoticed! PM Pateks are as soft as PlayDough. I don’t recommend as an everyday watch.

At these prices I’m still not entertaining ideas of selling, but who knows in a few months or a year. These prices are insane...

Good stuff, and very helpful. I'm pumped for the Daytona.

I think I may use some of those funds to either get a Lange 1 or a FP Journe Octa Lune Havana.......the latter may be my single favorite PM dress watch.

These prizes are crazy... 5711/5712

I'm thinking of buying 2 of these extremely affordable 5980's and welding them together to make some new sunglasses like this pic attached

This is insanity. I am a day away from the one year anniversary with my 5712 and I love it just as much, if not more than the day I got it. It is my most favourite watch.

As much as I love the 5712, I can't help but think how it could catapult me into a 5270 or 5970, which is just so much more "watch" than a SS Nautilus. It's not a knock against the Nautilus, but it really is just in an entirely different league, one I could have only dreamed of.
