Good plan.
Seems the most reasonable approach.

Sorry about the ding, and do let us know how it goes.

That's a replacement from the pic, yet frankly, you'll get plenty more so look at it as the first of many. Wear and enjoy :)

I told my wife we need to rolex proof the house. I'm thinking those rubber ends used for babyproofing might do the trick. I'll buy some bubble wrap for extra protection. You can never be too safe.

This repair is very encouraging. I'm going to email them but can anyone estimate the cost?

Replace it, it looks rough. Don't buy into the "scratches are just part of the journey" tagline.

You need to stop losing sleep over it you’re driving yourself mad. A week from now you won’t give a toss about it.

I'm already eyeing the hulk. Too bad I can't find one at a decent price point.

I think the tagline is just something we tell ourselves so we can sleep at night. Everyone remembers their first (scratch). Some scratches add character, others wear. I think this one is the latter.

I won't even sleep with it bc I'm terrified the diamonds on my wifes engagement ring will slice it up
You need to try and free yourself from the paranoia and the anxiety the watch is giving you. Otherwise Rolex ownership is going to be more miserable than rewarding. Sh*t can and will happen no matter how careful you are.
