Two-tone as only watch?

My father wants to get a two-tone black dial Submariner as his first Rolex, and he intends to wear it daily. Is this a versatile and durable enough choice? Please share opinions!

I concur with my friend Larry on this one. Especially the part about the blue dial. It’s a beauty.

Also agree about the blue dial.

I will say the TT will be a bit blingy for daily use but depends on what he does on a daily basis.

He wears a suit often, and insists that the black dial looks dressier (which I suppose it does)!

I wore a Bluesy for 8 years as my "only" Rolex. No issues at all.

Ditto on the blue dial. I go with a TT GMTIIC over the TT SubC LN.

I would give him some blue suits to ease his concern.

Yes, half the world's Rolex population have a TT, usually a DJ.

For sure it’s a great daily watch. Shorts and a T-shirt or a suit. I’d get a Bluesy though!

Living with gold is like living with a Carrara marble bathroom; it’s expensive, but not durable. However after the first year of ownership you stop having panic attacks from every little ding that occurs.

I think the TT is incredibly versatile whether blue or black.

Must agree with your father. Black, but why the Sub ?

I like the symmetry of the GMT bezel better and prefer the easy link clasp. Once properly adjusted very quick a perfect fit. With the glide lock I always need at least two attempts.

The nicest TT Rolex ever made imho.
