My vote is for the sub. I know the blnr is very popular, but there's something about that tt blue sub. In fact, it'll be my next acquisition.

Both are great. The BLNR will be more understated. If that matters to you at all. That blue dial of the LB in the sunlight is something else though. You can’t go wrong with either one. Any need for the GMT function? That could sway things for you.

I do travel somewhat and live in the US but originally from Australia so could also be helpful on that front.

The blue dial really does sing though. I guess it’ll be a choice between functionality and that dial.

Hard to argue with that.

OP: Easy choice for me, but what fits your lifestyle best?

I had a BLNR for 3 years and traded it for a Bluesy 6 months ago.
I liked the BLNR, but I dont miss it. The BLNR got boring to me over time.

I considered these two watches and chose the BLNR. First, a one color bracelet always looks better than a TT one. 2nd, the Bluesy will be produced in some form or another forever while the BLNR certainly won't. 3rd, The GMT complication and bezel is much more useful to me than a diver watch.

That said, that blue dial is really mesmerizing. Especially the sunburst one. I really don't like the original one released in 2009.

I gave my TT blue sub to my dad and then I traded it for the BLNR which is on his wrist daily now. It works better for him as a daily and travel watch.

I think it comes down to how you'll use it and what other watches are in your collection. I have other dive and dress watches, so losing the TT sub was not a big deal.

I tried a TT Sub for 6 months. Found a beautiful specimen for a great price. Just did not last. Too old school for me. Traded it in for a DJ 41 that i enjoy much more.

BLNR for me but not a TT kind of guy. Love the dial but that’s about it. Make it a 116618LB then it’s a different story. As for the BLNR it’s a perfect all around Rolex and could easily be the only watch one would need to own.

depends what else is in the collection. I was in similar boat. Went with bluesy as a had a LN got already. I love bluesy. It has an amazing dial. It's only downfall is a person taste matter really than any else. I don't wear it much in the winter. It's just too summery for me. I tend to wear it the most march through october, then it sits.

The TT bluesy will make a statement and get the most attention. Its an iconic piece. If your looking for a more under the radar the BLNR is your choice. Now if you really want to make a statement then opt for the full gold bluesy sub. Not that piece will command some attention. IMO

Thanks all.

Other pieces: I have an Omega Speedmaster, FOIS in a vintage bracelet as a daily presently, a Nomos Orion for board rooms and when I want something slimmer and dressier.

This will be my first Rolex and I wanted something to celebrate an anticipated fall promotion for myself. Haven't been able to see the BLNR in person, but did manage to see the TT Blue Sub and fell in love with the dial (wife is a really big fan also). Decisions decisions.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Based on your current collection, the BLNR seems to mesh best with it, but if you want to shake things up, the Bluesy will do it.
