Rolex incoming.......

Hey guys

After much contemplating, I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought myself a 2006, 14000M, Rolex Air King. Watch is in excellent condition with only one previous owner who barely wore it and it just had its first service a couple of weeks ago.

I already have a 116610LN and thought this piece looked quite dressy and gorgeous (I'm a sucker for applied batons).

Watch is in the post by next day special delivery and will have it tomorrow. Let me know your thoughts guys, a link with pictures of the watch :-

Congrats! The Original Air-King was a great model. I wore one as my daily and one and only Rolex for many years. I’m sure you will enjoy that beauty!

I must admit the watch does seem rather small in comparison to my SubC. At the same time not small enough to be a "woman's watch or boys watch", but maybe small enough to be an "old man's watch" By modern standards lol

It was a bit of a shock to my system because I'd been used to dive watches for the past year or so (wore my seiko kinetic diver daily before getting my SubC).

It does look very elegant, however the bracelet does feel a bit cheap/flimsy in comparison to my SubC bracelet. The watch is very lightweight and comfortable to wear, more so than my SubC.

I'm currently in a love-hate relationship with the watch but I'm giving it a chance to see if it grows on me. I wear a suit to work daily so will be wearing this as my Monday to Friday.

Just a couple of things to add :- despite being 12 years old, the accuracy of the watch is around +3 seconds a day (my SubC is giving me -2 seconds a day).

The lume is really quite good on this watch despite only having dots and a smaller lume surface. I think this is due to the domed glass which really gives a good pronounced lume.

I hearya, and I'm comparing my GMTc to a newly acquired 116234. The size is quite hard to get used to!

It is indeed! I was initially sceptical as it seemed really small in comparison to my sub, but having given it a couple of days, I'm actually starting to prefer this over my sub. It is really comfortable, the dial is just amazing, and it is keeping great time (+7 seconds in 3 days = +2.33 per day).

Wore my sub for a couple of hours today and it seemed really big and heavy lol
