Hi all,

My local AD called me and said she has a blue dial available for sale to me, but it is the old movement.

Should I get it or wait for the new movement to be out?

If there's a significant discount, I'd go for the 116622, otherwise I'd wait for the new 126622. Yacht-Masters are easy to get. The 3235 mvnt has a true 3 days power reserve, I've tested mine in the SD43 and it was a bit more than 72h in real life.

New 126622 yachtmaster

I’d take it. Bird in the hand, my friend. It’s helps that it’s a beautiful watch and wears so nicely with its low profile.

But I'm the first in line for the 126622. Should be expecting by end of Q3.

No offense but I find that addition very cheesy. That’s something a downmarket brand would do because they’re insecure about their brand equity. Absolutely despise it.

I agree theres enough crowns already on rolexes and to much text. I like Patek's approach less is more when branding their name on their watches. The name is all i want to see on a dial, my DS has a paragraph on the dial.

Well engraved rehaut also has the Rolex name all around the bezel except on serial number space at 6; doesn’t bother me that or the extra marking of the new dials, don’t think has to do with Rolex being insecure

Thinking about this more last night I think the real reason Rolex did this is because there’s no real way to tell the age of a modern Rolex anymore especially with the random numbering scheme so they did this purely as generational stop gap. I still think it looks a little cheesy though. Takes away the purity of the dial. A marketing of sorts on the backside of one of the lugs would have been better. If in fact Rolex had done this based on my theory.

Pretty nice watch.

I wouldn't worry about the edges, you can wear them down a bit with some heavy yachting.

They are REALLY nice

IMO this is the ref that will launch the popularity of the YM in todays Rolex craze, as people look for these they will also want the older models

Same thing happened with the 216570 and 16570 Explorer II's...

If anyone is looking at 16622 or etc buy them now!

I love it. Congrats
My AD has yet to receive any of the new 40mm Yacht-Masters. I am waiting on the RG with Oysterflex but they only have the previous iteration

I think the shape of the older version was more Datona-like and the new model has the sharper, flatter sides like the submariner. Not sure there is a better or worse here.... Just what strikes your eye more. Like dating a super model blond or brunette..... Each are beautiful and will put a smile on your face!

Would be interesting to see a side by side with the previous version. I think the new one is very curved and flowing compared to the Sub which is quite slab sided in profile compared to the YachtMaster

Thanks It’s been a long wait on this one. IMHO it’s worth holding out for the new movement and especially the new buckle on the Oysterflex on the RG

The case difference from the 116710BLNR to the 126710BLNR is dramatic. Holding them side by side its easy to see where they made the lug taper more. That being said, it went from a maxi case to a maxi case with slightly thinner lugs. The new YM40 shouldn't undergo too much change imo.

Is the new clasp as large as the Sub?
