Rolex reopening 4th May

I have just been watching a video by Marc Goldberg on YouTube saying that Rolex will be opening with a skeleton staff on Monday 4th May and then fully opening on either the 11th or 12th May. Shipments will be sent out shortly afterwards.

Interesting... Irrespective of when they open I think the issue going forward will be the fact that different countries will ease restrictions at different times... Next week the UK will announce how they aim to exit the lockdown whilst we see Switzerland (Rolex) opening their factory doors soon enough to send shipment to the UK... Whereas on the other hand, the USA are quite a few weeks behind us therefore, thinking that stock will be allocated to those countries who's lockdown have either ceased or restricted. Another example is India... They are still in lockdown till the end of May so I don't see any stock being allocated there either and therefore, all that surplus stock being allocated elsewhere. I think over the next 3-4 months we'll see a weird pattern of allocations. Just my 0.2

Non of us know what is going on behind the scenes at Rolex. Hopefully it is correct so that the lucky people who have been contacted by their Authorised Dealers will get the watches ASAP.

It doesn’t matter if Rolex opens soon or opens much later. There was also nothing to see at AD windows the past year or so. So, it matters little.

I agree. The U.K doesn't even have any service centres open at the moment and all the AD's I know are still closed.

A big question in the US is when the distributor in NYC will be back up and running to ship out watches to ADs.

Are all of you in the market for a new watch in the midst of a pandemic? Or is this just food for thought?

Rolex reopening 4th May

Don’t you think Rolex knows how to use FB, IG and their own website to advise everyone of their own plans?

And does anyone really think a YouTube vlogger would be their choice to leak news?

Hopefully they don't rush opening the physical stores. Risking staff so people can buy their 6th watch seems wasteful given the awfulness around us.

Can we expect a run of lemons After the hiatus and not being up to full staff?

Watchpro had similar information about Rolex opening soon, but they did not have the dates like Mark did. Watchpro has a statement from Rolex.
