Any info would be great .. Seiko diver

This was bought for me when I was born in 1983
I don't know much about it but think it maybe be a fake cause it's battery run.
Any info would be great
Was thinking about putting an aftermarket bezel on because mines so rough

Just because it’s quartz/battery run, does it mean it’s fake.

Seiko produced and still produces various quartz divers.

I dont know much about your particular watch though. My only seiko divers are solar and kinetic.

There should be an eight-digit hyphenated number on the back as well as a serial number of similar length (no hyphen). Those will be useful to share.

Bezel looks cool, I would leave it.

Look at the dial above Divers 150, you will see the SQ logo. SQ stands for Seiko Quartz. Not a fake just a beautiful 37 years old Seiko diver with a Quartz mov

It is a really nice Seiko 7548-7000 quartz diver. Great watch!

Great watch. If you plan on wearing the watch often, and using the bezel to time things, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have it replaced so it can actually be read. If, on the other hand, you plan on selling it, I would keep everything original.

Fantastic, salty old diver! Lots of character. Don't change the insert. You've worn it this long. It tells your story.

Definitely ain't a fake Just produced during a quartz bonanza at that time.

I would leave the bezel insert. Looks super cool.

If it bothers you, try to source another one but keep the original so that you can go back and forth!

Great looking watch

Dude. Leave the bezel alone, it has mojo.

Did you replace the crystal at some point? Just wondering how the bezel and case could look like that while the crystal appears in excellent condition.

Looks great! Wearing my 7548-7001 right now! Got it just about the same time as you. The bezel and bezel insert and crystal have been replaced along with the addition of the aftermarket bracelet. The battery has been replaced several times and that is where these Quartz watches can be ruined if the battery leaks. This has been my everyday watch for 38 years! this is a cool article https://thewatchbloke.co.uk/2015/03/16/seiko-7548-7000/

As others have said, it’s legit. But it seems weird that somebody would buy a watch in honor of your birthday, presumably to pass down to you at some point, that was fake. Especially a fake Seiko

There are a ton of fake Seiko's out there. Even back in the 80's.
