Triple Seven
I just can't get enough of this watch. The more I wear my SRP777, the more I love it. I've always been a big Seiko fan, but after a big case of sellers remorse following the sale of my SBDX001 Marine Master, I couldn't bring myself to wear Seikos again. Until the turtle was released. I liked the concept, and thought it was too good a value to pass up. I hemmed and hawed over the different color variations. When that happens, I know how to make the decision easier. I go for the classic model and don't look back. I'm so glad I did that as the simple black and white contrast of this amazing vintage homage really ticks all the right boxes for me. I love the size, its big, but not too big presence. For my flat 7.125" wrist, it wears incredibly well. it's nicely balanced and doesn't sit too high. It's easy to read. I love the sculpted cushion case with the brushed top and polished undersides. When I look at it at different viewing angles it evokes different emotions, as if I'm looking at a different watch, which I love. To me that means the design is interesting, not boring. I really think Seiko hit it out of the park with this one.
BTW, I've worn it on different straps, but I like it best on the OEM rubber. It's the purest essence of a classic Seiko diver. I still miss my Marine Master, but I miss it less now that I have the turtle! |

Agreed! I’ve tried on a variety of straps and I think I prefer my Strapcode bracelet most. The oem rubber is incredibly comfortable and sporty though.
The 777 is indeed a future classic. You get so much for what they cost! |

I love them! Best bang for the buck. I have 5 in varying color schemes and bracelet/strap options.
I modded three of mine listed below including the 777. Sent from Crapatalk

If I were to do any mods to mine, I'd have the Prospex logo laser etched on the end of crown, but that's it. And if I did that I'd source a second crown for the logo and keep the original. Thanks for sharing! |

I think the Seiko SRP uses a silicone style strap. It is not rubber. I also think it is one of the best from Seiko. Enjoy it.

The only mods in regards to swapping parts for me are changing the bezel insert and chapter ring. I often find it too busy with redundant hash marks on both parts. And of course, things not always lining up with the seconds hand, a notorious idiosyncrasy of Seikos. This takes care of that I also really like the patina mod on the dial, hands, and bezel insert to antique the watch. That's the beauty of these and the SKX's; the ability to mod them to anyway you want or enjoy stock out of the box. Great watches! Enjoy yours (and I mean that in the plural because you WILL be getting more).

Try the crafter blue CB08 strap! It's fantastic! Really integrates with the Turtle so well and is super comfortable.
I agree for mid $300's you can not beat this watch!!!

I just got the blue dial version (i have 2 black dial watches now-thats how I settled on blue. Considered the Padi version-but felt the using GMT colors was like an homage to the GMT and the turtle has their own heritage). I had considered other Seikos and they were either too large lug-to-lug or I felt too similar to a sub in appearance. The turtle shape is really unique. I have to tell you I have been very impressed, and I have a small wrist and it fits great and looks great. I cant think of a model that punches above its weight class more than the turtle.

When I said OEM rubber, I meant rubber in the generic sense. I agree, it's one of the most comfortable and softest "rubber" (silicone) dive straps around. Here's a few shots of my turtle on a 2pc green canvas strap...
I want to get a silver/grey canvas strap next. |

Neat strap. Has a vintage military vibe to it. Who makes it? |
