To clarify, he said his guys packaged up the insert which indicates he has a business or shop, but he never used the shop. He said his "office".

If you paid via PayPal F&F but funded this via your credit card, would you still have some coverage from your card provider then?
If not, then as above, all you can really do is make his details public to inform other forum members.

I decided to wait it out until Thursday. See if he does the right thing. I'll pay an additional $40 (even though I shouldn't) to send this worthless insert back to him and receive the insert we agreed on. If he can't find the correct insert or something comparable from the 500 inserts he says he has, then we are going to have a problem.

Here is the message I sent.

"Let's wait until you get back on Thursday and you can find that correct insert. My perference is to get the insert I ordered, not a refund. My guess is on Thursday you will say you no longer have that insert in your office, but maybe you will surprise me. Maybe this was all just a big misunderstanding and you can be trusted to do the right thing. Maybe I jumped to conclusions too quick. If so, I'll owe you an apology once I receive the correct insert.

Have a nice vacation. I'll message you on Thursday."

The insert has been artificially faded/sanded. Compare it to the naturally faded GMT insert and Submariner inserts pictured below.

Great information guys!!!! Yep. Mine is a artificially faded insert like I thought. Thanks for confirming!

I am going to see what he does on Thursday. What insert he comes up with to send me. Hopefully it is a legit one and it was just a big mix up on his part (probably not).

Based on the great education from the group in this thread I am now thinking the original insert I wanted was probably artificial as well. Darn it.

(I removed the picture as I am still holding the seller's identity anonymous at the moment.)

How does someone collect 500 inserts!! He's probably on vacation at his insert manufacturing factory.
