Incoming....for the gal
Thank to TempoKing (Anastasios), I finally got my gal her birth year (1977) 1680 Sub. I knew in advance she wasn't a big fan of the traditional cyclops crystal, so, thanks to Springer, I had a replacement T-19 he sold me installed on it instead.
I gave it to her this morning, and she's over the moon. I coached her on what to tell people if anyone asks what model she's wearing, and she's reciting it back like a pro. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very cool gift Andy ....
..... and I certainly won't be showing my wife this thread
Such a busy dial on a 1680 too so (IMO) they look great without the cyclops. |

Thanks, fellas!
At a small Christmas dinner the other night, I kept prompting her by saying, "Ana, tell us about your new watch." And, without cracking up, she'd say, in a really over-acting blasé way, "Oh, this? Yeah, this is a 1680 Submariner....matte dial, you know...I wasn't crazy about the Cyclops, so I had it swapped for a T-19...plexiglass.... (sighing) yeah, love those T-19s...." |
