Submariner 14060M -3130 cal change date

The Rolex references 14060-14060 M underwent a caliber change
from 3000 to 3130 for the 14060 M (modified) series.
To our technical watchmakers/knowledgeable TRF folks:

What year did the change take place?
{Subsequent inquiry says 1999-With the COSC 4-line rating as 2007)

Short of knowing the transition serial number range -which is....

The watch must be examined for the 3130 caliber with Brequet overcoil spring and full balance bridge.
This becomes quite relevant when TRF members search for a 14060 non date Submariner holed lug version- with the modified 3130 movement.
It is not engraved necessarily on the SN as a suffix, nor is there a known external code. The 93150 bracelet tended to transition unchanged.
For those contemplating either 14060: read Paul Altieri's "Last of the Best" article on these Submariners.

I can't help with serial number ranges but the production years are:
14060 1991-2001
14060M 2000-2012

There is no "transition" range, although there is always carry-over around serial blocs. Rolex never changed anything based on serial numbers.

All 14060 Subs have the 3000 movement, all 14060M models have the 3130 movement. They all have the correct model number, which denotes the movement inside, stamped on the case.

All 14060 and 14060M Subs have pierced lugs, no exceptions.

The 14060M 4-liners with engraved rehaut where released in 2006. You can find 2-liners and 4-liners dated 2006. The transition took place somewhere within the Z7XXXXX serial numbers.

Lol when I first read the title my first thought ... the 14060M doesn't have a date indicator.

Read the content carefully, never jump to conclusions-your watch
might forget it's shock resistant. Any watch caliber or reference change
has a year and /or serial number where it took effect. Just like the Porsche 911 or the Walther pre-war PPK.

Read or re-read Paul Altieri's "Last of the Best" on the 14060-14060 M.
