Where to take the Explorer II

See the below link. May have to take the Explorer II there to renew it's heritage and really break it in!

Malaysia is a great place, very hot a lot of the time, enjoy

Just make sure you don't get lost in there, Chad. I don't think even a Rolex Explorer-II could get you out of that mess!!

If I went to Mars, would my GMT stay wound on my wrist? And...what time would I set the watch to???

Oh, and one more thing...Is this a hijack???

Yeah, but will it stay wound as WELL as it does here on Earth? The gravity is a lot less. I don't want to have to keep swinging my arm wildly just to wind the darn thing. Yes, I know I can wind it manually, but with those big thick gloves I'll have to wear, it will be a pain in the butt.

Dress light??? I'm not going to Mercury - I'm going to Mars. It is usually between -266°F to -62°F...

But that's OK. I've got a nice Burberry coat I'll take along. Should be fine.

And I'll keep my eyes peeled for that local to tell me the mean time there! Thanks for the advice, Chris.

Hey tosser....there's NO CLEAVAGE on Mars....unless you'd like to be contended with the ridges and clefts of the craters out there in that solitude!!

I'll take my own reading/looking material with me, thank you very much.

And how do YOU know there isn't cleavage on Mars? I'm holding out for an encounter with one of these:

Hubba-Hubba!!!

Oh Lord, I missed this one completely! Sorry, Bill...

Yep. I'll need something to smoke if I go with the old "stick-in-the-ground" routine.

Question: Will the stick work the same way on Mars, since the light is so weak?

Answer: Works the same way as it does on Earth!

Big apologies to Chad regarding this monstrous hijack.

Sorry, I just noticed how badly we mangled your thread. But, I hope you got some laughs out of it all in the long run. Carry on, bro!

Seems like a nice place to break in the Explorer. Keep in mind that having a fourth hand means that you always will have a compass as long as you can see the sun! Seems very appropriate for an explorer of the world!

Malaysia is a great place. I have been there several times, both penninsular side and Borneo (Sabah & Sarawak) side. Very friendly people. Check out the Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur for those discounted Rolex watches

If you get a chance visit Malacca and Penang. Very nice indeed. And great cuisine all over.

Well, at least my Rolex Watches are getting used! Not sitting on the sofa with the TV remote.

BTW, if you read my post, you understand it was a question - as some of us have been out in the boonies with nothing, especially over a decade ago when we did not have the communication technology that we have these days. My unofficial experiement, was within 30 minutes.

If y our going to buy a Rolex Sports watch, then use it as it was intended! How many buy Rolex watches for more of a status symbol instead of a tool, and then never take it out for adventures. "well, I own a sub, but I hardly ever dive and when I do dive I take my Casio instead and leave the Rolex in the safe"

Have not been caving for awhile, Malaysia does seem like it has some good caves to explore! Explored several caves in Western Thailand several years ago. Still waiting for an Explorer II TV ad showing caving!
