Another Rolex or something else......?

Hi All

Hope you are all well and, if you are here in London, enjoying the Sun

So, after a couple of years on here and being a daily reader, I have managed to build myself a modest Rolex collection. I have the Hulk, the Sub C LN, the white Milgauss and the Sea Dweller 16600. Also had a moment of madness and picked up a Uboat 😳🙈

The question now is, do I continue to build the Rolex collection or shall I throw another brand into the mix? I can't really afford AP or Patek so I was thinking maybe a Cartier, Panerai, Omega or even a Zenith?

Your opinions and thoughts would be most welcome

Forget the brand.

Find a watch that you really like. A watch that makes you giggle, just a little bit.

Buy that one.

I added Cartioer and Panerai, I like some variety. I was in Europe recently and really liked the U Boat, never saw those before.

Definitely get another brand since you've got so many Rollies already.

My top choices:

IWC
Blancpain
OMEGA
Zenith
GO

I wouldn't want Cartier.

Consider the Omega Aqua Terra 8500, nicely straddles the Sport/Dress continuum. And a darn good watch.

personally I like Rolex so for me if the whole collection was to be Rolex you cant really go wrong. That said if you feel like you need another brand to add some variety any of the brands you mentioned are good

Panerai is interesting, until you decide you can afford patek..... But in the long run, it may be easier to afford patek sooner than later...

The other brands will likely not be as liquid as the rolex, so you may find yourself in a less optimal situation with them.

Id sell the UB and Milgauss and save for an AP RO 15400, from Wights watches they are just Ł8K bnib a truly great price, or a Blancpain Fifty fathoms.

Omega PO should be on the top of your list.

Less is More. Consider Liquidating a couple of your watches or maybe 3 and get your piece of resistance. Maybe a grail that you never consider before for money reasons. I would give a hard look to your collection and see what watches are your joy and which ones are just using space on your box.

Except the Milgauss, all your others are tool watches so to speak. Since you are inclined to such type of watches, you may want to consider a Panerai (base model)?

This. Brand means nothing at the end of the day. I would say, if a watch really sings to you, buy that one.

Omega would be a nice sidestep, maybe a PO or Speedmaster.

My first two serious watches were Rolex and then found myself really wanting an Omega Speedmaster. So there it was two Rolexes and an Omega. I think I'm set for a while hopefully.

There are so many different watches worth owning. I would never have them all from the same brand, just my opinion.

But going back to the OP, I had an all Rolex collection for a while, then I grew it to 10 various brands and have consolidated lately, I believe the more you have the more you want and the less you wear them.

I would look at other brands and see what gets your attention.

Panerai... Mix it up. I also go through moments of madness where I want to collect a bunch from the same brand, just to later realize that I prefer variety.
