Tube replacement

Is a routine by the regular RSC service but do you think it s really necessary ? Gaskets for sure but the tube ? I think regular users not screw and unscrew their crowns more than 50times between service intervals does it make so much wear ?
Just curious.

Tube is definitely not always necessary, there's plenty of times where just cleaning it thoroughly and new gaskets would be just fine.

Take it out, replace the all the gaskets, clean the tube and case of any dried loctite and dirt and then put it back in with fresh loctite and new gaskets.

You would need to change the date five times a year if your wore it or kept it on a winder, as a minimum, then if your watch runs fast or slow, multiple time changes per year. This could add up to maybe 15 to 20 times per year and after 10 years, that's 200. I'd feel better having it replaced.

Rolex does not specifically say that a tube has to be replaced during service, it is up to the watchmaker to decide. I can assure you that it is most definitely not always needed to replace the tube, definitely not a triplock one, they are as solid as it gets.
