First time posting on the Rolex forum although I have been a member for many years. I usually try and keep lowkey but do post from time to time.

Anyways, I am part of a chat group of passion watch collectors of whom several are part of TRF as well. I was encouraged to post here on the Rolex forum to share a bit more so here I am.

Have been a Rolex fan for many years. A bit of love and hate to be honest but there is no denying the significance Rolex has had on watch collecting and the history of sports watches in general. I have accumulated many over the years but have tried to keep it in control LOL. The ones I tend to wear the most are more modern such as a Daytona ceramic, Pepsi, or Skydweller but I do have a dozen 6263/6265 and a handful of 6239/6241 as well which remain in the bank safe most of the time. Pity, I know but what can you do.

I was thinking about moving a few of them as I would like to get into several rare vintage Omega Speedmasters such as a 2915, 2998-1 lollipop, vintage Ultraman, etc...We will see what happens smile

Anyways, I took a group shot when I was at the bank to retrieve 8 of the watches. Still need to decide what I will do but that is another story.

Of the 8, there are 4 that I like more which are below.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading

Your my hero with those vintage Daytona’s. I believe we’re missing the other photos of your collection that you posted on Watch U Seek. Impressive.

True, I did not post them here to stay on topic with the forum rules. The rules here are different than on WUS unfortunately

Thanks for the kind words in any case. If anyone wishes to see some of my other watches which are not Rolex, they could look over on WUS or I could send them a link to the post over there

It sounds like poker has been very, very good to you! That is an amazing set of a few of your favorite 4 digit Daytonas! Are you tempted to cash any out with the run on them since the PN PN auction?

If I were to get a vintage watch, I am sure it would be a Daytona and probably a 6263, but am not sure I could sit on my hands and their value escalated to current levels if I had many of them. Regardless, thanks for sharing.

hi,

I am fortunate to not be in a position to have to cash out any of my watches but I do sometimes sell or trade watches for other watches I covet or am currently seeking, most of which are modern watches. I have not sold or intend to sell any of my 4 digit Daytonas anytime in the near future. I would actually like to add several specific Speedmasters to balance out my collection.

There are many fine vintage watches, the 4 digit Daytonas being one of them. You cannot really go wrong with any vintage Rolex for that matter but do not overlook other brands or models such as Speedmasters, certain JLC divers, certain Blancpain FF divers, of course Pateks, etc...

They might be heavy hitters but really comfortable on the wrist
