Question Regarding PAM321

hello sir,i just bought a PAM321
but i have a question, the power reserve indicator is at the first dot after the zero ( which i assume pointing at 12 hours power reserve)
but the watch is already dead..
is it common that eventhough the power reserve needle doesnt point at 0 ,the watch is already dead ? thanks
