26400RO vs 26401RO

I'm deciding to make a first AP purchase between a 26400RO (2014) vs 26401RO (2016). The difference in price is around 3.5k USD (26401 being more expensive).
1. Please help me decide which one should i take?
2. What's the difference between these two?
3. What's more preferable amongst AP enthusiast among these two?
4. Which of these two watches is gonna hold its value better in the future?

Thankyou in advance

I think 26401RO looks better in person and also it's under AP warranty for another year in case there are issues with the watch.

26401RO lack of contrasting subdials give the watch a more badass look than the contrasting dial version, imho. I also prefer it over the other more expensive and limited edition rose gold camo version ; why ? same reason the contrasting subdials.

I am not saying they are not cool, I think anyone should be happy with either of those 3 versions, I just don't want anything to distract me from the main reason I love the watch , and that is the rose gold/black dial combo , that is in itself a contrasting characteristic that both watches have but if you add the contrasting subdials then yes you add a cool contrast within the dial but you take away some of the contrasting rose gold/black dial combo.

As far as retention value the 26401RO already retains value better than the 26400RO.
Obviously the 26401RO is also newer.

I think the decision here is really personal preference. I wouldn't let the price retention on this case to be a factor. I think you should buy the watch that you are more drawn to, because if you love the contrasting subdials then who cares buy that one. Alternatively if you want it all , you can have a SS white dial Daytona that has the contrasting subdials plus the 26401RO. I guess if what you needed was someone to tell you how to expend more of your hard earned money ,then I am here for you

Whatever you decide will be fine, I really believe there is no wrong choice.

If I had a second chance to choose I'd take that red 918 in the background of one of your pics :)
