OP 41 vs Airking

Ok guys so I’m stuck in a position of which is better and why, so would love opinion!
Do I go for a new OP41 and maybe wait a year until availability improves or maybe try for a Airking now and stay on the wait for the OP, i love both watches but am thinking that a Airking may be a easier purchase with the hype around the OP and that the OP will be easier to get in say 12/24 months.

What’s people’s thoughts Thanks

depends what you have in the collection. I personally have the 40mm and it's a great funky watch for casual and work and wouldn't ever trade it. I thought about the OP 41 green as a summer watch but haven't decided so i rather get the AK then the OP 41 i think its more fun.

If you want an all rounder get an OP41 with a traditional dial colour like Black, Blue or Silver. If you want something more distinctive and unusual go for the AK. Have you considered the Explorer 39mm at all?

As was mentioned, it depends on your current collection, and your patience. For me, I like the new Airking, it has much more personality than the OP41.

AK is fun and quirky. OP41 is much more traditional but can be made a bit more fun with the Stella dials. AK is 14mm thick (same case as Milgauss, I believe) and the OP is 12mm. I don't really feel the OP on my wrist but I definitely notice the Air King, sometimes a bit too much. My wrist is 6.5" and fitted, the AK weighs 153 grams and the OP 134g. All that plus whatever other reasons, I find the OP much more comfortable. I have heavier watches that are very comfortable so it's not like it's just the 19g weighing me down; it's how the watches wear overall on my wrist, that's all. I definitely find myself looking at the AK more on my wrist but I love the OP for its elegant simplicity.

Get the one you want. Both the AK and the new series OP41 have character with the OP41 being more vibrant depending on color choice. The AK would have looked much better without the 3, 6, 9 Arabic hour markers and an added 0 in front of the 5 minute marker for symmetry.

Buy the watch you really want even if that means waiting. Better to buy once and be satisfied than to buy more than once because you weren't satisfied the first go round.

I say AK, you start of liking it and end up loving it the more you wear it. It's got character. shouldn't take long to get one either. Im not a fan of the OP myself but with AK on your purchase history, should help get the OP quicker if you still want one.

And to your question which is better...... One is not better than the other, it's all down to your preference and what you would like to wear on your wrist.

I’d buy the one you want. Buying a watch because it’s available but is runner up just doesn’t make sense to me

OP41 is an all rounder watch, you should consider it.

Isn't the Air King rumored to be discontinued this year?

OP 41 vs Airking

You will likely end up with both so I say, Buy It!

Before I took delivery on mine shortly before Christmas, I would have said that the Airking was not a one and only or all arounder watch. The pictures make it look a little more outrageous than it is. It is not nearly as busy as what you see on the internet. I also own an Explorer, not sure which I like better though.

The AirKing wears well and does NOT feel top heavy. The green and yellow blend in but are still there and enjoyable to look at.

I say go for the AirKing and don't look back.

I've never taken to the AK; I've worn the OP41's and love the funky color dials, the fit and the simplicity. I've had a Greenie on order since Sept and can't wait to get it.

The AK is more fun and different. It was my first Rolex and I have no regrets. I put it on a Everest rubber and it feels and looks great. On right now as I type. Also, the 3131 movement winds like butter and and it's within specs. Great watch for the money..

Both super nice watches, personally for me air king, imo :
One of the most unique
Prefer the all brushed bracelet
Will be discontinued and rise in value
Pretty cool history & connection to the bloodhound
Overall I think the dial is pretty cool using the combination of fonts & font colors

Why not do both? However, I heavily lean in favor of the OP41's.
