Next Vintage Royal Oak...opinions please

Good afternoon Gents.

So its now been a good few months since I got my 33mm RO, and having acquired a very good affinity for it, feels like I'm ready to take the plunge for a piece in the slightly more manly 36mm size.

What with all the crazy price increases and a fixed budget of less than $20k, I've narrowed it down to the following 3 choices from C24 and would like your valued opinions:

1. 4100ST with a 'repainted' Yves Klein Dial circa 1980
2. 14790ST with White dial, circa 1990's
3. 25730ST Dual Time, Blue Dial, Age unknown

Cheers Gents!

It does seem like one of the rarer models, and quite striking. Sadly the seller confirmed the dial isn’t quite original and has been repainted by a 3rd party albeit to a very high level...anything not done by the manufacturer to me has always seemed a bit of a put-off...not come across repainting before though

My vote goes to the white one which also seems to be least polished, at least in my eyes.

All the price seems a bit on the high side. The blue dial looks good but it was not original so it isn't good. The white dial looks good also.

I just purchased my 14790SA couple weeks ago, it has been polished but it seems like a very good price and looks charming so I took it. After I wear it, I love the vintage look pretty much.

I would stay away from non-original pieces unless you really love the aesthetic and don't care about resale.

From the three there, the 14790 looks like its in the best shape. But do some research on the sellers. If you're buying vintage with no papers who the seller is should really be your first consideration.

I just purchased an YK unpolished 14790 and the value is in the preservation of the dial. Please don’t buy one that was tampered with. It will hurt resale and there may be doubts to
What else has been changed. For your price point you can get a 4100st or a TT 14790. The darker dials vs white will also appreciate more in case that is a consideration.

The YK looks like it’s been strongly polished the bracelet edges are almost rounded and aren’t mirrored at all from those pictures.

Though I do always look for value appreciation when picking up a timepiece, the fact of the matter is that I've only ever sold one of my watches in close to 20 years of watch collecting so it almost becomes irrelevant once the actual purchase is done. Still it always nice to see on the personal balance sheet every once in a while

Thanks for the info, but not really into Full Gold or even Part-Gold for both aesthetic and personal reasons...Shame, as I would've been able to save a pretty penny on those discontinued and premium SS pieces Ive paid through the nose for

No votes whatsoever for the Dual Time so far, considering its age and the fact that it's a Blue Dial RO, the price seems like an absolute bargain...Could it be that the dial is just too busy to let it become a true Collectors piece like the other Blue RO's?

The dual time is matter of taste. Either you like it or not.

Condition wise, it’s the one in best shape from the 3 you picked out.
