Vacheron Overseas experience...

Hello everyone,

Thinking of finally taking the VC plunge with the 41mm basic blue dial one and would love to hear of the overall experience.

Wrists small, 6.3/6.5. Daily beaters a 36mm DJ and the newer YM40 occasionally.
Tried on the Overseas and while it did look bigger, I was just blown away and it didn't wear insanely large.

Any pros/cons, if any one would like to share, would mean the world.

Thanks.

I'm in the same boat as you, have fairly small wrists but just love the watch. I have put a deposit down on it and am waiting for restrictions to be lifted and shops open to be able to pick it up. I'll post my thoughts and some pictures once I've got it and hopefully it can help you with your decision making

A major con would be that you'll never want to remove it from your wrist!!!!!

Thank you. Ok, pretty much my boat. I love the fact that the strap/bracelet option is also there. it just feels like different watches so the chances of getting bored also drop further

Pull the trigger. Love mine, and it sits with good company when in the watch case. That blue is something else, too.

Don't mind the date, I never change it unless going on a trip knowing I will wear just one watch for an extended period of time.

You won’t regret it. It’s an amazing piece. However, it wears big. Without knowing the shape of your wrist, you might be at the absolute limit on what you could pull off size wise. Besides that, it’s an absolute stunner. I own a 5167 and the overseas is the better watch imo.

While not hugely tall, I do have large wrists. That said my VC SS tourb fits my wrist perfectly well but I can see how it may be a hair large for someone with smaller wrists.

They are making some really awesome pieces and it's mind boggling how easy it is to change the straps.

I have never really bothered changing straps on my other watches becuase frankly it's a PITA...it's so easy on these that even my wife can do it lol

Just as a reference. My wrist size is a little under 7 inch.

So I tried the 41mm with the black dial for size and the 42.5mm Tourb for the dial colour. As you mentioned, the T did wear too large but boy was it a stunning piece.
Trying to attach pictures given wrist shots are always welcome but can’t seem to get past the picture size mumbo jumbo.

I have a 4500v I bought new. I have a 6.25" wrist and wear the watch on its bracelet.

Pros: It's beautiful in every respect and has a pedigree steeped in history. The caseback alone is reason enough to own one.
Con: The "bracelet extension" slider things are super lame and pop to the extended position too easily and often.

I’ve owned a blue 5711. I currently have a white dial Daytona, the Pepsi, hulk and a skydweller among others . . . . A few weeks back I bought the 4500 . . . . It’s just a simple 3 hander . . . . Will be a great watch, but won’t be my favourite watch I thought. Wow how wrong was I.

It’s stunning. No pictures do the blue sunburst justice. If I had to sell all of my watches but one, this would be the keeper without a doubt. Even greater that it has the bracelet, rubber and leather. It’s like having 3 separate watches. The 41mm doesn’t wear too big either, it’s what I’d call ‘perfect’.

That’s the 41mm on the tiny wrist. Putting it out there for future owners.

I had the 2nd generation in white. I liked it a lot - nice size, great bracelet, and a cool looking dial. The thing I didn't like was that gunk would collect in the nooks and crannies in the cut outs on the bezel. The cut outs would also look discolored compared to the rest of the bezel. Also, the flat portion on top of the case (where lugs would normally be located) would get smudges and look discolored as well. Drove me nuts. Same thing happened to me with the AP15400. I learned I don't care for Genta designed cases.

Dude, get the 37mm (I think it is) version with the small seconds at 9. It's awesome and will fit your wrist which the 41mm doesn't quite.

Not sure if it makes sense but it was even more captivating in real life

Exactly what I am worried about and just what I did not want to hear- kunlun and rombomb (watch looks beautiful btw). The issue here is, I am so convinced that I will wear it on my forearm to make it fit haha... stupid I know.

FWIW I think that 37mm piece is the prettier watch and has a much cleaner look than the 4500V.

I should add that I gave the 4500V a hard pass while waiting for a 5711. It wore too large on my flat 6.6 inch wrists, I found the blue a little too bright and didn't like the extra ring around the dial and the execution of the date, and I don't value strap options for a watch w integrated bracelet.

Not for me, and too each their own of course. Love the 222 though.

How does the 4500 wear in comparison to an AP 15400/15500?

Never owned the 41mm APs but tried quite a few times. Definitely wears smaller than the APs, by quite a margin. Could be just me but I am 100% certain.

Definitely value your view. And honestly exactly the uncertainties that worry me. The blue was stunning. Since then I have been picture that gem sparkling all around every day life on my wrist and starting to feel what you meant...too bright? Maybe just over thinking it...

Size I also was worried about but I am over that.

The only watch ( and I have tried almost every single hot/quality etc pieces) that I have really wanted as much was the steel Lange Odysseus (and I hated it till I tried it on). The AD/boutique has basically said not a chance any time soon politely and I don't have the time to wait or play games. Once/if it is available, one can cross that bridge then.

Nautilus, not that I was ever going to get it any time soon, was the complete opposite. Lusted over it till I tried it on.

Thanks again.
