Typical AD/Grey AP Discount?

From a general standpoint what is a “standard” discount on a non “demand” AP? I know some crazy sought after models and market fluctuations will change the norm, but in general what is a good discount from an AD vs grey seller?

Thank you in advance.

I got like $1100 off my 15400 bought in Nov. I think there should be room for 10-20% on nondemand, maybe 25%?

I got low 20’s% for a 15400 back in March from an AD. I think for the 26470 ROO’s you can probably get close to the same amount.

even in the states, im pretty sure than discount number is much lower presently. Just judging by supply restrictions and i believe AP cut dealer margins since then. I know they were cut for sure and am pretty sure its more recent than your purchase. The US is still one of the best for discounts though as far as i can tell.

For RO in SS this is true. Discounts are much harder to come by but for the ROO 26470, those are still in AD display cases. Judging by grey prices currently, it looks like decent sized discounts can still be had from AD’s.

Be aware US had a dealer margin cut a few months back so any info based on older transaction is most likely outdated.

by chance, was it the Houston AD that discounts? I haven't tried to buy from them before but they will eventually be my local AD when I move back to the states. Been in there a couple of times and I liked them.

Yes. They were still offering decent discounts on ROO 26470 as of December 2017 but that may be because I’ve purchased 2 RO 15400 from them this year (well 1 for me and 1 for a family member who paid me back).

I don’t believe we can generalize at this moment in time. Too many moving pieces. Wait until February to see where things settle.

Tourneau Arlington VA if you want an AD or a trusted seller on TRF, good luck on the new acquisition.

Don't think they are an AD for AP?

even if they are, its still Tourneau

When they had a store in Houston, they told me after trying on an explorer II to give them a call when i was ready to upgrade. I was wearing an AP diver.

That store shutdown. I remember at one point several years ago they were the only Patek AD in town. Thankfully PP pulled their AD status from them in Houston and gave it to deBoulle.
