(**)Funny, I didn't respond to any post of yours in which you stated that Rolex was known to be a reliable tool watch: I did, however, respond to a rather condescending and negative post of yours, namely this post in which you stated only "it's not a rolex", in an AP forum, as a reason NOT to buy an AP, which despite your protestation to the contrary has fanboy and trollbait written all over it.

A post positive in nature might have been somewhat less snarky, and maybe, you know, listed your reasons, in a constructive and positive fashion, instead of acting as though your stating outright that an AP is not a Rolex (which I know you might find hard to believe, but I believe the OP already knew this) is, prima facie, reason not to purchase an AP.

So if you don't like people responding to your negative and condescending posts, perhaps not posting flamebait would be a great place to start.
Perhaps I forgot the smiley with my initial post, which obviously you needed to cool your jets. Not that it matters now but it was meant to be a light hearted comment. Given the Thread title, the comment “it’s not a rolex” is hardly critical. If you wanted me to elaborate a simple “what do you mean?” Would do the trick. given this is the ROLEXForum, first and foremost before the Audemars Piguet sub forum I didn’t think it was totally necessary. But that’s clearly not what you actually cared about anyway.

And yes, you didn’t initially respond to anything having to do with the reliability of Rolex, you replied to my pro Rolex comment by saying Rolex attracts inordinate numbers of “Fanboys” and “Trolls”. Which IMO shows a real lack of class on your part for multiple reasons.

My response to your actual “snarky” comment was straight to the point. Whether you agree with me or not regarding the reliability and “do it all” characteristic of Rolex (apparently you have all the facts from a poll), doesn’t change the fact that you’ve response was irrelevant, and your behavior is immature.

Well, I think purposely trolling non-Rolex brand forums is not only uncalled for and rude, but also is actually a violation of the TOU, and I know for a fact that one guy got threatened with a banning for doing what you did here, so I'd tread carefuly if I were you. Also, coming back after the fact and implying that it was a joke and trying to twist it around that calling out obvious flamebait here makes me the bad guy won't fool anyone, but good luck with that.

Yes, I got the facts from a poll of TRF users. I also had two Rolexes I bought brand new die on me within a few years of purchase, and they were not "banged about" or handled/worn roughly in any way. Do you have other data that none of us are privy to, i.e. actual measured failure rates of Rolex vs AP for example?

And with respect to your original post, try this: next time someone in the main Rolex forum posts a thread asking why they should NOT buy a Rolex, go to that thread, and respond "It's not an AP" and see what kind of reception you get.

So now you're threatening me with the possibility of being banned? haha. Dude, you need to relax. I never implied that my comment was a joke, I said it was light hearted, which I stand by and it doesn't change the point which I also stand by.

As far as responding in the the Rolex section the same way, I would have no problem if that's how I felt about it. I seriously doubt the reception would be as delusional and immature as yours.

By the way just so you know that I don't roll up in this sub forum to cause trouble, here's is a list of threads I've started here, all of which I believe to be constructive and beneficial to not just myself but others as well.

Lastly I'm sorry to hear about your 2 brand new rolexes not working. I find that to be unlucky. I've had a few issues with Rolex here and there but of literally dozens of watches over almost 2 decades there have only been a couple issues and anytime there was an issue it was resolved to my satisfaction.

On the other hand I've had 4 APs 3 of which had problems right out of the box. 1 went to APSC twice in the first 3 months of ownership, 1 had a chunk of the M in "Audemar" missing on the dial and was also about -50SPD, 1 had several QC issues on the dial. The only one that didn't have a problem i Bought preowned, and despite being mint condition caught a scratch on the crystal. AP's fault? No, of course not. But after owning dozens of Rolex and using them daily for all activities, I never once scratched a crystal.
