Clever mod?

Not sure if this is a clever bracelet mod or something available to buy.

Going through some of my late fathers old watches he left behind and came across this. Was pretty much impossible to remove until figuring out how to unhook it properly. Anyone ever seen a clasp that slips over and hooks like this?
