Go to West 47th Street, between 5th and 6th avenues, the jewelry district. You have to look around _ and there are TONS of places to look _ but you can find every type of Rolex, new models and vintage, on this street. Hundreds and hundreds of them. Make sure you go into the places that are like malls, with small booths. They often have great stuff and great prices. Be prepared to bargain.

You can try John Criscitiello at 70 Bowery in Chinatown, he has good stuff and he is a nice guy.

Im aware of 47th st and have a few people I know there. I was looking for specific recommendations as half of the vendors on 47th st are crooks.

Wow, that's a little harsh. I've bought watches and diamond jewelry on W. 47th Street during my 30 years in NYC and never had a problem. I just make sure I do my homework before shopping there. Most of the vendors are aggressive and looking for high prices, but I don't think they're crooks.

I don't think it's harsh, It's the truth. You said it exactly, homework has to be done which I'm doing here. If you don't do your homework you get ripped off.

PS==there are some dishonest people there and doing your homework is a good idea. If you search on google and watch good guys on watchnet--you will see some nightmare reviews! I know as I had the worst experience I have ever had in my 23 years of watch collecting--very thankful I came out ok. I personally will stick to avoiding 47th St.!

Louis Martin Jewelers has a large selection of vintage rolex. High asking price, and always has a sale at half off, then bargained from there. They have a watchmaker go over it before selling, I got my datejust there.

Wise words for anywhere you do business, 47th street not exclusive.

We had an "extensive" list of pre-owned shops a while ago. I think Kyle might still have the list.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I will be in NYC this week and wanted to do some Rolex shopping. Can someone refer me to the list in the post above?

I am looking for places that sell pre-owned for un-ridiculous prices, are reputable, and will have box/papers.

There is a large used watch shop right across from Radio City Music Hall, can't remember the name.
