Incoming Smurf 116619. Comparing it to Hulk.
Finally! A DAY before Rolex discontinued current Sub line, my local AD here in LA called me and sold me the last Smurf they had. I absolutely love the blue dial, I am not a big fan of 2020 Smurf Sub release that’s why this one is so special. My Hulk was my daily watch until now, but now I will be wearing Smurf. I love the way the watch is heavier on my hand because of while gold and I am really blessed to have both in my collection. What are your thoughts on “old” Smurf and does anyone relay likes the new one? Me personally not really.

Love it. I think it will be come a collectable classic in the sea of black dials.

Congrats.. both Smurf & Hulk are great watches with special dials!
I always felt Rolex messed up their line by introducing Blue in WG and then they had no choice but to introduce green in their SS category. If it was being launched at same time, I would expect Rolex Subs in SS in black and blue dials and then WG watch in Green dial. For a lay man, even seeing the pics - Hulk looks more expensive than Blue version. Hulk with PCLs would have just hit outta the park. Green belongs to PM category and Blue should have been part of regular line up like how they corrected with Tudor now. |

This one has been added to my list of regrets as I generally have a rule that I won't purchase a discontinued / older watch at much more than RRP+Inflation when I had the chance the purchase it but passed at the time. (so this excludes vintage where I never had the chance)
I will gladly wait on my regrets for future prices to fall back in line if they ever do, or accept the ones that got away. I know that logic probably would seem nuts to some people, but I'm quite happy to accept a miss and look forward to the future. sd4k is a big miss, as is the 50th anniversary sub and now this! Congrats its stunning. |

Thanks a lot. Also a question, I want to start wearing it daily, does white gold scratch as much as metal or its worse? Not thats its going to stop me waring it, just curious. I have few gold pieces that I wear on occasions only thats why don't have much experience with daily use.

I like the new, the old and all reference made by the Crown (with the exception of the Daytona Leopard), the Hulk and the Smurf it is a privilege in the same collection! Congrats!

Absolutely! My experience is that they scratch about the same. Refer to the 18k WG sub clasp. My other PM and SS watches have similar amount of scratches. Of course, less noticeable on the all brushed steel. I believe in wearing the watches and scratches are bound to happen. However, it is a great journey! All the best! Ooof! Beautiful watch, probably one of my favorite PM pieces in the lineup. I will take the version you have over the new one! Congrats!

I love this watch. I think it is the best looking 11 series Sub Date, although not the only good looking 11 series Sub Date.
Congratulations. Nice watch, nice timing. The 12 series WG will doubtless attract many fans. I much prefer its predecessor. |
