JLC ultra thin moon

Just purchased this watch as a gift for my mother. She loves the watch, but for some reason I can’t advance the date or moon phase with the quickset pusher. Any advice? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Do you feel the click when you depress the recessed button?

If yes and nothing happens, would bring it back to the AD.

No I don’t feel anything. I’m not able to depress the pushers buttons.

Can you show a screen shot of what you are pushing and with what. Also what time is the watch set to? I can’t remember but I think you are not supposed to set between 10p and 2a (though it’s been a while since I sold mine)

Would set it to 6am and see if it works- if not , then would bring back to your AD.

Thanks. I’ll give that a try and update. Probably won’t be able to until Sunday though.

Take it back, the date is incredibly responsive to the pusher on mine.

Might be hard to return it with that big dent in the 4 o’clock lug.

Hopefully they have a watchmaker who can sort out the setting issues.

JLC has a long warranty (7 years I think) - call their service center and they'll send you a FedEx label and will repair it and send it back as good as new. I had a similar problem with my JLC perpetual calendar and the fixed it in a matter of a couple of weeks.

I think that’s just some left over tape. Gonna see if setting it to 6 am first changes anything first. If it doesn’t my hope will be that it will be replaced by the dealer

Be careful of the “danger zone” between 9 pm and 3 am you need to avoid using the push buttons when your hands at in this time period.

This goes to all watches with moon phase and day/ dates etc.. particularly for perpetual calendar, this would destroy the movement.

Yeah fortunately I wasn’t able to push them. It was set to 11. Makes me wonder if it’s designed that way. I’ll know later today and come back with an update

I know this may be a silly question…

Were you sure it was 11:00 versus 23:00?

I’m not sure honestly. I set it quickly after the gift was opened. The picture above was snapped a few minutes after, obviously can’t tell from that.

Why?

Because, as an earlier post mentioned, JLC warns customers about adjusting movements with date complications….
“For date watches, may we remind you that as a general rule, no adjustments should be made between 8.30 p.m. and 3.30 a.m.”
