Rolex 5500 Arabic Numerals

I have been looking for years for a mid-60s arabic dial Rolex after being inspired by an old hodinkee article: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/sa...ster-perpetual

Finally I found something similar enough and pulled the trigger at auction. Still looking for the one in the article… what are your thoughts? Dial looks to be damaged but is likely irreplaceable, wouldnt mind figuring out a way to revive it.

I would leave that exactly like it is. That is very cool. What a find.

That’s very cool that you got it with the papers. It looks great, and I’d wear it as is.

Everything is original incl thin bezel, dial, hands, crown, plexi, 7835/19 and dial is perfect as it should look through 55 yr patina imho with just loss of 6 and 7 lume tiny plots.

Great looking watch! I wouldn't change a thing! It shows its age quite well I think.

That's gorgeous. Don't touch that dial! It will significantly drop the value if it gets cleaned up. Patina is everything!
