GMT Master gilt CR
Hi, I’m new to this board. I have the opportunity to buy this GMT Master. Just wondering everyone’s opinion. First, I realize the 24 hr hand is incorrect and I suspect the other hands may be too. My plan would be to wear the watch while I search for a suitable replacement. Also, it comes with correct rivet bracelet. Thoughts?

Have you held it? Is the dial uniform and shiny? If you haven't held it you'll need a video of the dial in natural light from many angles. Make sure a trusted seller and a no questions asked return window. Gilt dials can be a minefield.
Beyond what you've observed, I would expect a case # b/t 500k-700k, I am guessing a caseback date up to '63 or so... the insert is probably later but worth more than the original... |
