Longtime Rolex guy to Omega

I have always been a Rolex guy…..have several Submariners including the 50th LV that I bought in 2007 for $5,900, Deepsea and 2-Daytonas(white/ black dial). I have gotten so tired of the hassle of buying a new Rolex….kissing the AD’s azz to be put on a list or pay an insane price from the grey market…..so, I bought my 1st Omega Seamaster Professional-O21030445101001. I am just amazed at the quality of the watch…..in my opinion it is far more superior to the Submariner….the quality and the 9900 movement are just amazing….Omega just gained another life customer.

Congratulations. Omega makes some great watches but the further you dig into the company the more you will see game playing/bundling/purchase this to get that and the such. I am a fan and have owned Omega's since the release of the first Bond movie with Pierce Brosnan but they are not Rolex. And that can be the point, depending on the customer. Rolex availability will get better over time and they do make some great watches. Own both, I do, and enjoy.

Me too. I’m a grand seiko guy. Also Rolex. This year bought the new ‘57 and ck859. Blown away by both. Wanna add the world timer and 321 at some point. Sad I slept on omega for so long.

I love my Omega’s. However, I love my Rolex watches just as much. Both have they pros and cons, don’t want to get into that now.
However, even though I have a great relationship with my Rolex AD, I am tired of the games as well.
I will buy more Omega watches, as a matter of fact, the AT small second-beige will be my next. As far ar Rolex, Datejust Mint in my next.

I own other brands but have been looking at omega. Not a huge chrono fan but it will either be the new aqua terra or the smp green.

Nice to hear OP. Omega is where I started 30 years ago. It has everything a great brand should have. long history and tradition (1848). named after a caliber. association with important events, achievements, and on top of that great watches especially vintage. If you stick to the cassics it will only bring you joy. just like any other brand IMO. Cheers

Is that the 1861 or 3861? I think the new 3861 models smoke the daytona for sure. It's less than half the price with arguably better history, bracelet and movement.

1861 is a great model as well.

Congratulations, happy to see your shots of your nice watch here soon? Welcome to the Omega club. Hope you enjoying it, pleased. :D :)

I have also the seamaster like yours but with blue dial instead, the black one is amazing looking too. :)

Love the flat link bracelet! Might need to get one for my new moonphase and the different spring bars I believe to make it fit correctly.

Ever since I was a kid, I was in awe of the Rolex Subs I saw in the old James Bond Movies. So naturally, the very first NICE watch I got for myself was this grail. I almost bought an Explorer and an Explorer 2, but never consummated the deals because I didn't love them. Matter of fact, I didn't really love any other watch ROlex makes other than the GMT2 Pepsi. But by the time I arrived at that conclusion they were already hard to come by at retail in 2016/2017.

So I went and got my other Bond watch in early 2021...the SMP300. Once I had this one, the AD who is incredibly knowledgeable steered me towards the new 3861 Speedy and 41mm AT and I now have all 3 Omegas and I could not be happier. Fantastic watches all around and they get a LOT of wrist time.

When I was ready to buy my wife her first NICE watch, I went back to Rolex though. 31mm OP with silver/gold dial. Pure class and much nicer than anything Omega makes for ladies IMO.

There is clearly room for both brands in our wardrobes. I am still trying to get a Pepsi on Oyster though. One of my other grail watches.

Same story here. After being treated like a leper by my long-time Rolex AD, I dumped all my modern Rolex pieces and moved onto other brands including Omega.

I did keep my two vintage Rolex watches (5513 and 1675) for sentimental reasons.

These days, my interests are almost exclusively focused on Omega.

I'm fortunate to have an OB pretty close by and they treat me great. In fact recently got a call to visit for a chat and have a look at the new 2022 novelties.

It's so nice to feel appreciated again.

Omega makes very good watches for the money. Also, their movements are very accurate.

Been a Rolex guy since the early '90's and have recently switched to other brands. Currently have a couple Omegas and a Breitling. I am looking at another Omega right now. I will keep the Rolex models that I have but will not buy any more unless I can walk into the AD and buy it out of the case. That isn't happening any time soon!

Sort of buddy. I heard indirectly that they’d got one due in but by the time I spoke to them it was already allocated so they said I need to wait a bit longer.

Suspect my Snoopy will be next and then, I hope, the 321 after that at some point.
