Help with 116610LN authenticity

Hi all!

I was hoping with some help as to your thoughts on whether this Submariner date is authentic or not? Seller is interstate but prefers pick-up in person (which is a good sign I guess), so if I did proceed I would either make the trip there or have a good friend who lives there make the transaction for me.

He says it was given as a gift in 2016.

Thank you for any help and please let me know if I should be requesting any additional specific pictures / info!

So after doing some research after posting this, the fact that I thought something was off seems to be true. I see that the serial number is one that is commonly used in replicas and doesn’t match with the story in terms of model / purchase date. Plus some other things look a bit off.

I’m staying away! If it’s too good to be true it almost always is I guess!

It’s entirely possible the seller was gifted the fake Sub - but glad you won’t be the 2nd victim.

Just one glance at the closed crown guards and stumpy hour hand tells me this is FAKE.

Box interior is also appalling. What a POS (both watch and seller)

The rehaut doesn’t seem to line up properly with hour markers and the card looks off to me. Almost too light and font. Also since when is there a paper guarantee for this model year. They started making the cards to replace them. I can see why in person, cash exchange and no further contact info. Be careful

And the warranty card has a white sticker over it where model and serial number are, probably hiding another serial number underneath

Ask to meet at a police station see what they do since this is obviously fake.
