I think I just found my next watch; SBGE245
I thought that the SBGE001 was a fantastic watch, but could never quite pull the trigger. This gorgeous LE version has pushed me over the edge:

Interesting. I like it. The orange rubber strap is a curious inclusion, though.

I like the idea of an extra rubber strap, not sure that I wouldn't prefer a more "burnt" or smokey orange over the more excitingly hued one on offer...

This is really, really nice. It would be helpful to see a real-life image of the dial, as I'm sure it is quite a bit darker?
And I like the orange strap with the "mahogany" dial. EDIT: it's a big one, at 44mm wide & 14.7mm thick. |

That's a good one.
Edit: I went to Seiko Paris in August to see that one, and accidentally fell for the SBGJ217, because I wasn't super familiar with them yet (and because they do look similar). Got back to the flat to see how much Seiya has it for, and realized my mistake. But so far I'm still stuck on the 217... |

I believe that is a few hundred more expensive than the GS I wanted.

That is such a nice watch, man seiko is really playing hard now and the best part is more and more are starting to catch on to this and realise they are more than the $200 watch of yester year. The brand is really starting to cement its identity as a known luxury watch brand.

Everyone on watch forums already knows about GRAND Seiko, what they do, that they have great designs (for decades already), quality is outstanding, bang for buck etc. The bigger audience is still unaware and would still spend 10k on a Rolex before dropping anything close to that amount on a Seiko. |

At 44mm diameter x 14.7mm thick it is not a watch I could wear daily and at that price point I wouldn’t part with any of my Rolex watches.
But you must choose the brands and models that push your button.

My AD called me today. Got to hold one in the flesh and check it out. Looked very nice. I was impressed. The dial is nice, but didn’t pop as much as the photos. Cloudy raining day here so I didn’t bother to go outside to look at it in natural light. I put a deposit down on it to hold for me why I chew it over. With Xmas coming and the new way overpriced (non-rescue dog I wanted), I gotta sit on it. I was offered a great price because of my past business. Gonna sleep on it only because I need another watch like I need a nail in the head lol. If this was two months sooner, this would be an incoming post! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah the bezel is sweet. Def has a ghosting effect. Thinking about flipping my EX2 for it. I’m too Rolex heavy anyways, and the deeper I dive into WISdom, the more I realize there’s more out there than Rolex.

That does look really nice ! Ironically, (since I posted this thread), I've just bought an SBGE201 from DavidSW... I'll pick it up when I'm stateside next week. I'll check out the GS boutique in London over Christmas to see if I can compare the 2 and see which one I end up with....
