Get higher on the AD list?

I have a Rolex purchase history with my AD (3 sports watches and a date just 41mm) in the past 2 years, however, I am awaiting a call for a new Ceramic GMT Pepsi and/or a new GMT "Batgirl". Thing is this - I also need to buy my girlfriend an eternity ring later this year (am thinking of paying circa £3k). Is it worth "hinting" I am more likely to buy the eternity ring with my AD, if I get an early call from them for my requested watch? Thoughts appreciated.

Hints are worthless. You wouldn’t accept a hint from them as meaning anything concrete.

Buy the ring. You are already ‘invested’ with this AD (in a good way). A £3k sale at a new AD won’t make you their newest VIP.

It’s a safe bet every AD worldwide has at least one of those customers, and often they will have a few of them.

Buying a Submariner/GMT master is a massive purchase for the majority of people. It is a a fair chunk of change for a trinket.

But it’s not selling steel professional models that keeps an AD, or even Rolex in business. It’s all about the PMs and gem set pieces.

Try to slip them a crisp $20. Make sure to try to do it during a handshake to be covert.

Don’t hint. Say it.

Buy it now. And say I hope this helps my standing.

Realistically, a 3k$ purchase is unlikely to help. But it can’t hurt to try.

I’d say a crisp 20 is a vast underpayment if you’re going to go down that route

I was told I got my 5712
Because I didn't keep come in reminding them how much they owed it to me... Just for coffee and chats about watches in general - while yes, at the same time getting services done, and sending other customers in too

If your girlfriend has a friend, maybe her friend is willing to "date" the dealer so you can get what you want. Before anyone starts hating, a guy sent his wife to a dealer and somehow she was able to acquire a hard to get watch. Read into that as you so choose.
