BLNR at Retail

I have a unique situation and opportunity to purchase a BLNR at retail.

I just got the Sub in December so there may be a situation where one is gone after a few months.

I love my Sub, but the BLNR always appealed to me and this may be a chance to finally try a GMT and see which one I truly like better.

What are everyone’s thoughts on this strategy? Owners of both is the GMT more wearable? I ask because right before I got my Sub I got to try on a GMT side by side with a Sub both on oyster and the GMT felt much more comfortable.

If there is one negative of the sub is its heft. Coming from a BB58, without any micro adjustment, the sub is still less comfortable.

Absolute no-brainer. BLNR at retail, you buy it.

Oh, believe me, I get it—easily one of my favorite references ever:

I’m just giving him a bit of a hard time because I remember reading multiple posts about how he was not a fan of the lugs.

I remember looking at pictures since I joined TRF last year and thinking the GMT lugs were enormous. I shared your sentiment.

Then I tried one on for the first time a few weeks ago and then again last week and was waiting for the lugs to jump out at me. They never did.

I’m definitely sold on the GMT and would be thrilled with either the BLRO or BLNR on jubilee. Waiting for a call, myself. They’re all fantastic, who am I kidding?

So will you ADD to the Sub or only replace the Sub with the BLNR?

If I can get a solid commitment to getting the black Daytona next year for a big occasion, I might trade. The blnr on jubilee and the black Daytona are a great combo I am aiming for.

I went through the exact scenario you describe: I had a Sub, was offered and acquired the GMT, and then realized I liked the GMT more, so I sold the Sub...

BLNR is, to me, more useful, while being less ubiquitous. Great watch!

BLNR on Jubilee is the most comfortable watch I own. Great watch.

I would definitely go for the BLNR at MSRP! You cannot go wrong with that. If you pass, I think you'll really regret it. Plus, you will always wonder if that was the piece you would enjoy more than your Sub. Personally, I think they are 2 very different watches (especially if the BLNR is on Jubilee) and keeping both would be the perfect duo. Worse comes to worse and you don't like the BLNR, you can let it go without losing any money at the very least.

I do feel like I would regret it as well. I have this guilty feeling for some reason that I pinned for the Sub for 9 months got it and now I get this BLNR option and I’m ready to jump. It dampens the specialness of getting the Sub.

I guess I have a fear that the BLNR will trump the Sub and I’ll get rid of it. Totally irrational but something in the back of my mind.

I had a BLNR already and got offered a Sub (both MSRP) They are different watches. Keep them both. You won’t regret it.

At retail. Buy it.

Much harder to get than a sub. You can keep both or sell one. But BLNR at retail is an opportunity.

I’ve owned most of the modern Subs and GMTs and the BLNR is my favorite of the SS ones.

I have both. I wore the Sub yesterday. I’m wearing the GMT today. I’d never get rid of either.

If I were you I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Everyone’s wrists are different. I think the Sub is the most perfect fitting watch I have. But my GMT fits really good, too.

I have this set up as well. The BNR on Jubilee is one of the most comfortable watches I’ve ever worn. The Jubilee also adds a little pop to it. I have to admit, though, my no date sub is the most versatile watch I own. It allows me to do so much. If you can keep both, I’d say do it. Both watches, serve different purposes.

The perfect combo. I do prefer the Batman over the batgirl, but that black and blue is the best colour variation imo

I would love to keep both but my Wife is going to veto that. So it’s gotta be one in one out for the time being.

Buy it. You'll probably decide to keep the BLNR.
