So far my Planet Ocean is at day 26th and counting at+ or - 0 (zero) seconds.
I have been keeping track of my new Planet Oceans accuracy with a detailed log of its accuracy. On the wrist and off of the wrist resting positions have been noted. So far I am still at + or - 0 (Zero) seconds in 26 days and countingI This accuracy in unprecedented with any automatics I have ever owned or come across. My PO has beaten my Tag Heuer quartz 3 times now. (Tag seems to gain .50 seconds in 7 days) I have been tracking it with the official time sites noted at the bottom. From what I have noted so far. My watch gains about 1/8th to 1/4 a second all day on my wrist. It loses the same with a face-up resting position at night.
When I bought the my new Planet Ocean I would have been happy with + or - 3 seconds in 24hrs. I would have been ecstatic with + or - 1.5-2.0 seconds in 24hrs. At this point I am giddy beyond belief. http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/simpletime.html and http://time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java |

Who ever regulated my PO in Switzerland was either brilliant or extremely lucky. My Serti Sumariner has been a solid +3 seconds in 24hrs for over 12years without ever being cracked open yet. That has been my bench mark standard so far before I bought the PO Coaxial. I am going to send my Rolex in for its first cleaning/service to Rolex NY this summer and I am nervous it wont come back as accurate as it left. The Omega PO at this point is a accuracy freak of nature.

Great...now, i have to read about his PO perfection on both forums!!
Very nice regulation by Omega. My HV still stands at +2 sec/day...and it is becoming more and more consistent regardless of positioning. |

Thanks guys. I now need two Omega forums to brag on.
Honestly, I cant recommend the Omega Planet Ocean with its Coaxial movement enough. Since Omega will be raising their prices soon,...You do need a PO now! |

Saturday evening I set mine to 0 and left it on its back face up until Monday morning. It lost 2 secs. But it was also 43 degrees Celsius during the days and very hot nights. Its been on my wrist for 18+ hours and gained again 1 sec. Pretty good.

I have been reading posts like these for years. Its safe to say the PO is as accurate or better than any mechanical watch out there.

I believe mine gains a couple seconds a day, but I have not checked in months. I did monitor it closely when I first got it but it was so accurate that it got boring so I stopped!

My sub date has been consistent at +.5 seconds per day for at least the last three months!
All I do is correct the time by hacking every time I have to change the date. I am extremely pleased with this performance! |

Omega accuracy is legendary
Quote:
Hi Mystro From personal experience, I think Omega accuracy is legendary. For your watch to achieve such a level of accuracy, it is not surprising since it is new watch and the movement is technologically superior than those older calibers. It is hard to believe, I have just acquired a 1965 Constellation 'C' with caliber 564, that had never seen daylight for many years, and after a service by my watchmaker, costing only $150.00, the accuracy has always been + - 1 second per day, for at least 3 weeks, before it varies. For its price, very much lower than Rolex or Patek Philippe, I reckon an Omega watch is value for money, in terms reliability, durability and accuracy. |
