It would have been a great investment. $100 in 1969 would be worth about $700 in today's dollars. $100 invested in the s and p 500 in 1969 would approx $8900 today.

This is fascinating! Thanks for the share.

I comment on someone's recent "Are newbies too OCD?" thread. I was basically saying how you can't compare the mentality to old school Rolex owners. Several reasons why of course, but for one thing look at the pricing!!!!

While I understand these weren't exactly "cheap" back then, the modern day pricing is way way higher, even with inflation.

ah ,,, but does any one have a pay slip from the same year ,,, or the price of a pint of beer ,,,, wonder how many pints it would take to pay for say , a sub ,,, then same maths for today ,,, is a sub more expensive now , relatively speaking , [ in pints]
