First Big Boy Watch - and WoW! what a beauty !

GMT 126719BLRO

I am actually quite speechless as to how stunningly beautiful this piece really is.

Another ‘pictures don’t do it justice’ watch, but genuinely, they don’t.

Forget the debate as to whether the blue dial suits this watch compared to the original black dial - I’m here to tell you right here & now it most certainly does.

So, so different in the flesh to the wishywashy faded out blue this dial looks like under harsh studio light in most pictures, including on the Rolex website - in reality it’s quite a rich looking darkish navy blue and compliments the red & blue Pepsi bezel perfectly.

Never really paid much attention to this watch previously whilst scrolling through the Rolex website - preferring instead to click on the meteorite or the black dial on the SS version.

Neither did I ever think I would one day be fortunate enough to actually own something as beautiful, yet completely indulgent as this.

And yes, let’s be honest, indulgent it is - no one ‘needs’ a solid white gold Rolex, especially as to 99.9% of the wider general public it will just look like regular stainless steel.

But I guess if it ever comes into your cross hairs and you are fortunate enough to be able to pull the trigger then hey, what the hell, life’s too short & all that….

I must just mention the feel of white gold also

Its been discussed many times previously, but until you get the chance to actually hold a watch like this in your hands and see it with your own eyes, words can’t quite describe how different it looks & feels to regular stainless steel.

The next couple of pics taken next to a Datejust hopefully show the difference in look & lustre between the SS & WG

The difference is quite subtle in the pictures but night & day in reality

Thanks

Congratulations! It is stunning with that combo. I’m in the distinct minority in that I don’t care for the SS version, but this is gorgeous!

You know, it does look a bit more integrated. With the black dial, it introduces a 3rd color (not counting the silver colored)case/bracelet and this red and blue.

Hi Guys

Thank you for your comments - but just to clarify, this isn't my first Rolex but it is my first full gold piece which is what I meant by the 'first big boy' comment.

Sorry for any confusion or if my post was misleading, that certainly wasn't the intension.

If you click on my username & then click on 'posts started by..' you will see some of the other Rolex currently in my collection.

Apologies once again
