Overview:
This discontinued ref. 216570 is, at its core, a no-frills, GMT sports watch, and importantly one that helped update the collection from the previous 16570 reference and bring the Explorer II line into the modern age. With a solidly built 42mm stainless steel case, matching triple-link Oyster bracelet, and a fixed 24-hour outer bezel, the watch is instantly recognizable as an Explorer II, albeit one notably much more robust than any previous iterations.


The Complete Picture:
“G” serial number dates the production of this watch between 2012 (warranty card dated 2012). This watch is in overall excellent to mint condition and just came back from the Rolex Spa at RSC in 2019 where it received a full service. All photos are of the actual watch being sold. Powered by Rolex’s Caliber 3187 movement, which is fitted with a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers and has an approximate 50-hour power reserve. The watch comes as a complete set including box, papers, cards, RSC paperwork, and the 2019 Rolex Service Center Card.
