Can’t believe I said no to one of the hottest SS pieces out there. But I am not going to buy it just because it got offered. Hopefully it goes to someone that really wants that color!

Hope I didn’t ruin my chances by saying no. In such market conditions, can’t help feel bad saying no. Who knows if I have to wait once again for months… Here’s to hoping positive karma gets registered.
Just to clarify. Did you say you would take any OP colour. Or did they offer you the red without you specifically asking for it. If you didn’t ask for the red in any way then you are golden. In fact, you probably upped your status (non flipper.)

Specifically asked for turquoise blue or green. But offered the red instead. Mind you, this was after a long wait.

I don’t know about upping my status… just hope that I don’t get ghosted now.

I don’t see them ghosting you for this. What might be happening is you don’t qualify for the pieces you have asked for: ie, spend history, spend amount, etc but you do qualify for the red dial. If you become a “better customer” over the next 6-12 months you may get the one you asked for. If you don’t the call may never come.

For example, I asked for a BLRO, BLNR and a CHNR with my AD. I had limited spend history and only known them for about 6 months so I was offered the CHNR which I love BTW. Moving forward a year I’m hoping to pick up a BLRO. This after adding some spend history and some referrals I made.

I passed on a white dial rose gold Skydweller on OF last month…a great watch but not for me. You did well to go with your heart/gut. You made someone else happy while still in the running for your preferred piece.

I’m of thought that turning down a watch that you weren’t ‘officially’ on the list for helps the AD filter enthusiasts and potential flippers.

Just last night I stepped into the same AD that I purchased my DSSD without history and was offered a TT Explorer for my wife. Turned it down as my wife isn’t a fan of TT watches and wants a ‘clean’ looking 36 DJ flutted bezel in white.

Fingers crossed I’m able to grab this for her soon

Good for you. Just means you're not a flipper. Some can not help themselves and pass up the $$$$.

Nice!

Agree with others. Don’t buy what you don’t want.
