Deepsea JC Renaut Advice

Hi guys
Thanks for adding me to the forum. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a 2015 Deepsea James Cameron I’ve just bought. My brother has the same watch but we have noticed the rehaut and serial number are easier to see and seem deeper engraved on his 2018 one compared to my 2015 one.
Could anyone shed some light on this for me?

If yours is from 2015 you have reference 116660. 2018 and in is the newer model 126660. Check that.

Might be wrong but I think Rolex changed the way they did the rehaut at some point. From an outline engraving to filled engraving.

Yes I think your right. It certainly looks that way. Both of the watches are 116660.

I had a mk1 non JC and it was really hard to read, I have a new ‘21 JC and it does seem a tiny bit easier to read, but in a nutshell, they are both still difficult to read.

Welcome to the forum
The watches in question are reference 116660 for the original variant and 126660 for the later reference.
I personally, have never seen them side by side so I can't comment but I recall seeing side by side pics on this forum when the 126660 was released and my impression was that the printing on one rehaut appeared a little bolder than the other, but I thought the 116660 was the bolder one of the two
Quite frankly, I was paying more attention to the font where the "S" on the rehaut was the same style as the dial.

Very hard to tell under the thick crystal.
I thought they were all filled, just the width/boldness was changed slightly

The letters used to be outlines like this.

But are now filled like this.

Thanks for the clarification and posting pics
I thought it was the other(Ringlock) text.
My mistake

I bought the DSSD in the first instance because that Rolex text was hard to see.
Can't say I've ever even looked for it
